In the garden in January

There's still plenty to be done in the garden in January even though it is the coldest month. Here's a few things we can help with:
~ Repair and re-shape lawn edges
~ Prune apple and pear trees
~ Plan your vegetable crop rotations for the coming season
~ Protect tender plants (e.g) polythene shelters for outdoor peaches and nectarines, to prevent peach leaf curl
~ Dig and turn-over unused areas to allow the frost to break down soil
~ Begin designing how you'd like your garden to look in spring.
Also it's an important time to look after our feathered friends - if you would like to see more birds in you garden then we can help with a strategy - bird feeders, bird baths etc.
